Privacy Policy

Divorce Journal · Last updated: 30 October 2026

Divorce Journal ("the app", "we", "us") is a private journal and evidence log for people going through separation or divorce. We know the information you record is sensitive. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use your journal content for marketing or to train advertising profiles.

3. Who can see your content

Your journal is private to your account. We do not read your entries. Your data is only shared with the service providers needed to run the app (see below), or if we are legally required to disclose it.

4. Service providers

We use trusted third parties to operate the app: cloud hosting and database providers to store your data, an email provider to send password reset codes, and Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) to process purchases. These providers only process data on our behalf and as needed to deliver the service.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed and password reset codes expire quickly. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your device protected.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and journal for as long as your account exists. If your trial or subscription ends, your existing entries stay safe and viewable in read-only mode. You can ask us to delete your account and all associated data at any time (see Section 7).

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct, export, or permanently delete your data by emailing us at divorcejournalapp@gmail.com from the email address registered to your account. We will respond within a reasonable time, and within any period required by the law that applies to you (including Australian privacy law and, where relevant, GDPR and CCPA).

8. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple or Google. You can cancel at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

9. Children

Divorce Journal is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be communicated in the app or by email.
